We were fortunate enough to meet Erin through a mutual friend who had mentioned to us that Erin was an excellent photographer. A few months later My sister and her family wondered if we were interested in getting some family photos done. She thought it would be nice to get some with all the kids together as well as some separate family photos as well. The primary focus of the shoot was our children. While our family had moderate success in the past with other photographers my sister’s children had always had negative experiences resulting in disappointing photos. This had nothing to do with the skill of these photographers as much as it did with my nephews uneasiness of being “staged” for photos in an impersonal setting. At that time I suggested that we should try Erin for the photos. My sister was expecting more of the same but hoping for the best with Erin. What we got that special day was nothing less than spectacular. I can tell you that Erin carries a DEEP love for her work. You will experience this when you meet her but it will be ever-present in her photos.
What m ade our shoot even more amazing is that it took place when Erin was within a month of delivering her first child. She amazed us that day chasing the kids around capturing shot after shot. All of this after more than a 1.5 hour drive to reach us. Having been through pregnancy themselves, my wife and sister were amazed by Erin’s energy that day. Erin was wonderful with the kids that day. Her warm, fun, genuine personality endeared her to the kids almost immediately. For my nephews (3 year old twin boys) these were some of the first smiles captured by a professional photographer. Bear in mind that many of these smiles were not posed, but captured through laughter from the fun of the day. Shot after shot, smile after smile, place after place Erin was there capturing the best moments of the day.At the end of the day we knew Erin had captured MANY photos. My sister was hoping for some success this time just through the sheer number of pictures that Erin had snapped. My family was excited to see what she had captured as well. Then… all we could do was wait for the CD with the proofs. The wait was brief! Later that week we received the CD in the mail. WOW that was quick I thought to myself. I excitedly opened the package and placed the CD in my PC. There I sat… click after click… picture after picture. Each one as wonderful as the last. All bringing a smile to my heart and others a tear to my eye. It was one of those moments in time when you know that you are looking at something special. Moments in time that we are fortunate enough to have forever now.I can tell you with all honesty that you will have GREAT DIFFICULTY trying to narrow down your favorite photos. There are a lot of photographers out there. We have had good photos done before but these were different. These were personal. What I will tell you is this: If you just want photos you can go anywhere. If in fact you want memories of a wonderful day with your family captured by someone that connects with you on a personal level call Erin. Usually photos conjure up memories. Erin’s shoots create memories and then capture them for your family to cherish. We feel so blessed with our photos. We got so much more than we bargained for that day because not only do we now have a family photographer for years to come, we gained a wonderful person as a friend. Erin Heckler was a joy to work with! She was always willing to answer any questions that I had and went the extra mile to ensure that my wedding day was special. The photos were beautiful! She has an eye for making the perfect photo! She was quick to send a proof book as well as make the photos available online for purchase by friends and family! I highly recommend her services!

I was introduced to Erin’s work through my cousin Sara’s engagement pictures. I remember looking through all her pictures and thinking to myself,” These are not your average engagement pictures.” They were so unique, fun, and intriguing to look at. They weren’t posed at all. They were so natural and easy. So at that moment I decided to give Erin a call, because I too was engaged to be married that following year.
Upon our first meeting, the minute I first shook Erin’s hand I knew we weren’t going to look elsewhere. In the first few minutes of meeting Erin, you can’t he
lp but to feel totally comfortable around her. She always has a smile on her face to brighten your day. To know Erin, is to love her. That day I signed up to have her capture all of our memories on the most important day of our lives. We couldn’t be happier with the decision we made.
After hiring her a year in advance for our wedding, we knew we had absolutely nothing to worry about. We scheduled our engagement pictures and we were so excited to get started! The experience was far more than we had bargained for, it was WAY more fun than we had expected it to be. Erin was so easy going, she helped us feel relaxed and at ease. It felt more like I had just spent the day in the park snuggling, kissing, and goofing around with my fiance, than it was photo shoot. What was even better the day we left the park Erin called us saying she had ALREADY emailed us four of the pictures she had taken. That just showed us how much she enjoys her work and cares for the people behind the camera. When we got all the proofs back we were blown away…they were ALL amazing! We couldn’t decide on just a few, so we ordered all of them!
We are getting married in just a few short weeks and we definitely know there is one thing we won’t have to worry about, and that is our photographer. Erin is an amazing artist and individual. We are thrilled to have Erin as apart of our lives! I hope she likes us A LOT, because she will be seeing our faces for years to come….heres to maternity photo shoots, children photo shoots, family photo shoots, and a fifty year wedding anniversary photo shoot. We just love you Erin!Kristy&Ronnie Canton, Michigan
Where to begin. I found Erin on the Internet. I emailed her to inquire about pricing. She responded with a very friendly email congratulating me on my pregnancy and told me she had also just found out she was expecting! Over the next 9 months we struck up a friendship, emailing frequently discussing the ups and downs of pregnancy .. and before I knew it, we were both new mommies!
When it came time to do my daughter’s first photos Erin was just as excited about them as I was! She was very flexible in working out a day and time, and even checked the weather to see what day it would be most comfortable for my newborn to be outside
I wasn’t sure where I wanted to do the photos, and she chose an absolutely beautiful location for us.
During the photoshoot she made me feel very comfortable. As you can imagine my 5 week old baby was not the most cooperative of clients. She spent half of the time during the shoot crying! However, Erin was very understanding and patient. She even waited while I nursed the baby to try and calm her down. One thing that I really loved was that even during the crying Erin continued to take pictures. She wasn’t just trying to pose the baby for that perfect little catalogue shot. She wanted to capture the “real” moments, and as all mothers know, those crying fits are about as real as it gets with little ones! She had great ideas for poses but also just let me cuddle with and talk to my daughter and always seemed to know just the right time to start snapping.
When I saw the product of our day in the park I could not believe how beautiful the photos turned out. I actually got tears in my eyes. Erin absolutely has a gift that not all people with a camera are blessed with. It is obvious that she loves what she does – it shows in her work! I have been showing the photos off to everyone I see and all they can say is how beautiful they are! I honestly have no idea how I am even going to chose what ones to hang on the wall. I am so happy to have found such a wonderful photographer (and friend!) and plan on many more photo shoots with her in the future! Thank you Erin!!
